David Corvo, Class of 1972

David Corvo, ’72, graduated from UC Berkeley in 1972 with a B.A. in English. He served as EIC and President of The Daily Californian his senior year, when the newspaper was an independent, off-campus publication. Corvo worked in local news in the Bay Area and Los Angeles before joining CBS network News where he held a variety of positions including Deputy Bureau Manager, Executive Producer of the Weekend Evening News, founding Executive Producer of CBS This Morning, and Vice President supervising newsmagazines and documentaries.

He created the magazine program Front Page for the Fox broadcast network in Los Angeles before returning to New York as a Vice President of NBC News. He later served for more than 20 years as Senior Executive Producer of Primetime News Programming, which included producing the newsmagazine Dateline. He retired from NBC in 2024.

Corvo is a Senior Fellow at the USC Annenberg Center on Communication, Leadership and Policy.
